My magical wedding day

With our one year wedding anniversary soon approaching I thought it was about time I shared our most perfect wedding day with you. It truly was a magical day.
After my husband asked me to marry him on a romantic surprise holiday to Hawaii, we got to thinking where we wanted to be married. We knew we wanted a destination wedding so our family and friends could join us for our wedding combined with a holiday filled with palm trees, cocktails and relaxation so as soon as we saw the stunning One&Only Hayman Island we knew it was the perfect place for us.
The weather was absolutely amazing all week long, we spent our days in the lead up to the big day lounging by the pool enjoying the beautiful sunshine, eating delicious food and relaxing. It was perfection.
The official wedding festivities began with a welcome cocktail party by the Hayman Pool where we served canapés and cocktails including our favourite piña colada cocktail served in our own personalised coconut.

The following day was our wedding day! The big day was finally here and I felt so relaxed getting ready in my suite, no nerves, zero stress. I actually surprised myself with how calm I was, I was almost worried I was too relaxed!
Our wedding ceremony was held in the Formal Gardens as I had always envisioned a beautiful garden setting for my wedding ceremony. I also loved this venue as it is an enclosed space where we were able to create an intimate atmosphere.
Our inspiration for the ceremony was an all white and lush green colour palette so we decorated the space with a mix of stunning florals featuring white roses and phalaenopsis orchids. The aisle was very long and the white carpet ran the entire length of the Formal Gardens so my wedding stylist had the brilliant idea of creating a floral feature down the aisle with multiple cylinder vases filled with white orchids and lilies with blocks of white roses to resemble a rose garden on either side of the aisle.
Cascading florals covered the garden pillars, draped along the water fountain and wrapped around the plant urns and I carried a bouquet of white roses.
My dress was a custom designed creation by the incredible Alex Perry. I’ve worn hundreds of wedding dresses in my lifetime working as a model so I knew I wanted something classic and simple. Alex designed me a beautiful french lace and silk dress with intricate beading and long thigh high slit. Seeing the dress come to life in his design studio was a really great experience I was able to share with my mum.

Our wedding reception was held at Fire restaurant which is a circular shaped venue so we decided to make the centre of the room our dance floor and seated guests in large round tables around the outline of the room between the large column pillars while my husband and I sat at a sweetheart table, which is a table for just the two of us. This was great because it gave us some alone time to just be with each other during the evening and we got up and mingled with guests between courses of the food service.
We introduced a hint of colour to the reception floral decorations by adding some soft pink and lilac flowers to our predominately white florals and kept it natural by including some greenery. We used an assortment of roses, phalaenopsis orchids, hydrangeas and dahlias throughout the room.
An incredible huge floral chandelier hung in the centre of the room, flowers cascaded down our sweetheart table and over our three tier wedding cake, the column pillars around the room had flowers winding around from the ceiling to the floor and guests tables were adorned with cylinder vases of an assortment of different florals and candles. The seating chart was a beautifully decorated tree located in the foyer showered with flowers and lanterns lined the entrance to the reception venue.
There was also the most incredible fragrance of beautiful fresh flowers as you entered the room. We danced all night long to all our favourite songs and quite literally had the time of our lives!
